Traveling by caravan is one of the best ways to experience freedom and nature. This summer, we set out with our caravan to explore Antalya and Cappadocia, two beautiful regions known for their unique nature and historical riches. Here are the details of this unforgettable journey...
Antalya: Sea, Sun and History
Antalya, the starting point of our journey, welcomed us with its deep blue sea, golden beaches and historical texture. We swam in Konyaaltı Beach, wandered in the narrow streets of Kaleiçi and traveled back in time in the enchanting atmosphere of Aspendos Theatre. After experiencing the nature and history of Antalya to our heart's content, we jumped into our caravan and set off towards Cappadocia.
Time on the Road
During our approximately 500-kilometer journey from Antalya to Cappadocia, we had the opportunity to meet different faces of Turkey. We experienced an adventure with the transition from the warm climate of the Mediterranean to the cool winds of Central Anatolia, the changing colors of nature and the delicious meals we cooked in our caravan along the way.
First Stop: Isparta
Isparta was the first stop of our journey. In this city famous for its rose gardens, we walked among lavender fields and shopped in small shops full of rose products. After cooling off in Isparta Lake, we set off again.
Salt Lake: The White Wonder of Nature
One of the most impressive stops on our journey was Salt Lake. The largest salt lake in Turkey, the whiteness that stretched as far as the eye could see and the blue of the sky came together to create a fascinating view. While walking along the edge of the lake, we felt like we were on another planet.
Cappadocia: A Fairytale Finale
Our last stop, Cappadocia, welcomed us with its fairy chimneys, underground cities and unique valleys. We visited the Göreme Open Air Museum, admired the view from Uçhisar Castle and discovered local flavors in the wine cellars of Ürgüp. But perhaps our most unforgettable moment was the hot air balloon tour in the early hours of the morning. It was a unique experience to float over the fairytale landscape of Cappadocia while watching the sunrise.
Advantages of Travelling by Caravan
We experienced many advantages of traveling by caravan. Being able to stop wherever we wanted, camping in nature and traveling in the comfort of our own home made this trip even more special. In addition, the experiences and memories we shared with other caravaners we met on the road enriched our trip even more.
Conclusion
This caravan journey from Antalya to Cappadocia was an adventure full of unforgettable memories and experiences. We definitely recommend travelling by caravan to anyone who wants to discover the beauties of Turkey, be alone with nature and enjoy freedom.
If you experience this adventure one day, we hope to meet you on the road!
